The ways to place different designs to print, sublimate, embroider, transfer, etc., on the on tshirts are varied and some with the passage of time have been sophisticated and have revolutionized the trends of fashion design in the subject of printed garments. Let’s talk about the best known and used ways in the world of designs for T-shirts. There are a few different techniques used in the trends of design and printing of t-shirts which are as follows;
Textile printing with water-based inks
Textile printing with plastisol inks
In this post, we will talk about the process of sublimation in detail for printing on tshirts.
Sublimation Technique (The Transfer of Image by Temperature)
It is a system of printing relatively old and invented by chance. It is based on the transfer of color by a dye, microdispersed, which is printed on a white paper in reverse order, so that it is later transferred with a thermo-blender or iron created for this purpose and applying a dose of temperature with a time defined under a set pressure, so that the pigment is transferred to the fabric easily and effectively to complement the accuracy of the drawing print which is based on aspects such as the pressure of the heat setter, the time of sublimation and the degrees of heat.
This printing system is made in two ways i.e. by screen printing and through dedicated inkjet printers.
Nowadays, the technique has been widely used for screen printing since the procedure is more complex and if a very good technique is not applied and a good procedure is not used, it does not generate optimum results.
Instead the technique of sublimation printing has been increased through the inkjet printers created or adapted for this purpose. Among the most recognized brands is Epson for its impressive quality, ease of use and performance.
The technique of sublimation can be used in garments with polyester, acetate, viscose, rayon, lycra and related materials. Besides the polyester, it must be white as the coloring is transparent. Currently the sublimation is the trend of the design and impression that is being used in campers, tshirts, dresses for women, scarves, uniforms of soccer, cycling, etc.
