It is advisable to have the advice of occupational psychologists who help you in recruiting. There are specialized professionals in the area, however, not all companies have the resources to hire them. With the following tips you will learn how a formal process is done.

The experts say that the recruitment process has several stages. Many steps can replicate perfectly in your company, and to make the process more complete, you can hire the services of an employment psychological consultant or directly have a psychologist in your company, which is the most recommended. These are the points to consider;

Defining the Job Profile

Refer profile that applicants should have to apply for a specific position. It must be defined in terms of desired knowledge, skills and educational level.

Recruitment

Various means are used such as advertisements in newspapers or online publications. You can also contact directly with potential candidates registered in your own database.

Selection

This phase considers selecting at least 10 potential candidates who meet the basic skills. The selected candidates are called to a first job interview, conducted by an organizational psychologist ideally.

Technical Evaluation

A set of key questions for specific knowledge of the area should be developed in which the candidate shows interest and claims expertise.

Psychological Evaluation

It is developed by an organizational psychologist, who performs a set of tests in which the applicants must choose a number of colors that can determine their personality traits.

Background Check

Once there are a number of people who have passed the previous stages and are considered suitable for the position, their previous work history must be verified with a background check service.

Selection of Three Candidates

The three candidates who are fit for the position are defined. They are asked to appear for a new interview. At this stage, psychologist delivers a full report indicating a summary of the development process and the preselected candidates.

Interviews are a key point in the process. The type of questions to be performed must be assertive and knowing the answers can exhibit relevant aspects of the applicant’s personality and expectations.

Body behavior and nonverbal communication are more important than the applicant’s responses. Intonation, direct eye contact and good posture are points to consider an applicant.

If you have an SME or you are newly starting with your company, you probably cannot have psychologists and fully perform the formal process. However, you can apply without several problem of the points to finally hire the right candidate for your goals.
